HOW THE ADOPTION PROCESS WORKS
An online Adoption Application must be completed by every prospective family. Why? Because we consider you pivotal to the successful forever future of a VIB (Very Important Boxer)!
Important: A $27.00 Home Visit Fee is required and non-refundable. This fee does not apply to the adoption fee.
Please be patient with our thorough questions. While the application is detailed, each question helps us ensure the best match for your family. Our boxers are not "just dogs" and our adoptive families are not "just people"!
Application Process Steps:
- Submit a complete online application
- Pay the $27.00 Home Visit Fee
- A volunteer will contact you to schedule a Home Visit
- Upon approval, receive available dogs list
- Schedule Meet & Greet with potential new family member

Your Adoption Includes:
- Complete veterinary care and records
- Spay/neuter procedure
- Microchip with registration
- Rabies certificate
- Identification tag
- One free professional trainer consultation (within 60 days)
Transport Information
Basic transport fee: $300
Note: This fee applies to transport outside of Texas up North only. We do not offer transport in Texas/Louisiana. Prices may vary.
Each HBR dog will be fully vetted, spayed/neutered, and if necessary treated for heartworms prior to adoption. We are committed to disclosing any and all information we obtain concerning every dog in our program, to the prospective adopter.
The adopted dog will be microchipped and registered with HBR as the contact. The chips used by HBR only allow one contact. The Adopter will receive a microchip collar tag with the adoption documents. At the end of the first year from the adoption contract date and upon written request to HBR by the Adopter and advance receipt of a $20.00 transfer fee, HBR will process the transfer on behalf of the Adopter.
In addition to all of the above, every adopted HBR dog is entitled to one (1) free consultation with our professional trainer. The free consultation must be scheduled within sixty (60) days of the final adoption date on the contract and must be attended at our trainers facility.
