MELLIE here and I'm a 1+ year old Boxer girl.  I was lost on the streets of Houston and got picked up by the City and taken to their shelter.  I was there for a bit and then the good people at HBR came and picked me up.  I had caked on dirt, mud, and mites.  Once I got cleaned up through many baths, I was hairless...and I was very, very stinky.

Luckily for me with medications and love, my hair is BACK and I'm starting to look really good!   I have spent some time in my foster home and I get along with the other dogs that are here...there are no cats here, but I LOVE to chase squirrels and cats out of the yard, so my profile is NO CATS.  I like my crate and I am mostly potty trained...and I'm very smart so I am learning.

I met a cat this week, and I'm not going to be good with cats or bunnies...yes, there is a BUNNY here in my part time foster home.  I am way too interested and want to chase them.  I also met a small human and I think he is pretty cool.  So, I'm good with kids as well.  I'm working on my potty training and my hair is starting to grow back.

As I am feeling better I have TONS of energy...which is common for a young Boxer girl like me.  I like to play with other dogs, but they need to be OK with boxing...because I'm a boxer, so I play like one.  I'm just ONE, so I'm a big puppy...I like to play and play and play.  So, just keep that in mind.  If there are no other dogs, then I am going to need exercise!  Take me to the park, let's go for a little run, or let's get some good exercise every day for at least 45 minutes.

I love my crate and all of my toys.  My favorite toys are empty plastic water bottles because they make lots of noise.  I also like balls and bones.  I'm mostly potty trained. 

I am a VERY social girl and I love my humans.  I like dogs, but I LOVE humans and want to be with them ALL the time!  When I see them I stand up and give them a big HUG!

Our basic transport fee is $300 for boxers traveling outside of Texas to their new homes up North. This fee may vary occasionally. Note: Transport is not available within Texas or Louisiana.
