I came into rescue with my running buddy, Patches. She was adopted already! I am very happy for her!
Foster care is lots of fun, I am friends with all the resident dogs, and pay very little attention to the cat. Evidently prior to rescue I was kept outside. If I come in with my pals, all is well. But if I am alone, I get kinda scared as if waiting to be kicked back. It is hard learning to trust again and I am glad to have caring people who are helping me to feel loved and secure.
In the yard I am quite curious about my surroundings so I need a very secure environment. In my former life I was used to being neglected outside which created a desire to go find someone to play with. Now that I am receiving supervision we are redirecting that desire for company, to within my family. Family! I never knew life could be this good!
We are working on house and crate training. As an 'outside' dog I never needed to learn that stuff. No one loved me enough to want me inside with them. How sad is that? But I just got here and have not had much time yet to learn all the new regulations. I will go into my crate with a nudge, and not cause a ruckus inside. And, I sleep all night through, too!
Since I just moved in I know there will be very good pupdates to come! Could I please be your first flower of spring? I am ready to blossom within your heart and home!
