I get along with other dogs, I am house and crate trained, and I really, really, love kids. Do you have some I can play with? All I want is to be part of a family who has time for me because I really didn't like being a yard dog. It was very lonely.
In my foster home I have spent extended periods in the yard but always with someone watching, even if just from a window. I have passed the 'dig' test, but if I think you are leaving or have left, I will do my best to go over and out to be with you. I don't run away, I just sit on the porch and wait for you to find me. It is such a tiny flaw and now that you know about it all you have to do is not leave me alone in the yard. Keep in mind the fence here is only 4.5 feet high and I sorta climb it - so a standard 6-8 foot privacy fence would be very secure. A wonderful person like you wouldn't want to leave me alone anyway; right? You want me to be your best friend and companion; huh? That's what I thought!
I know how to 'sit' on command and I am learning new stuff, something called 'stay', because I am very smart! Oh! Oh! I have learned how to fetch! I will retrieve anything you throw for me! It is fun! We are working on the leash, but it is hard not to get excited when there is so much to be excited about! On the other hand, Grandma came to visit and I seemed to understand she is frail and unstable so I was very careful around her. She liked me so much she called me into her room and we just hung out together! She even felt safe letting me out of the crate and walking me to the door for potty breaks (for me, not Grandma!).
There is a cat that lives here and we both roam around. Frankly I am just too busy to pay much attention to it. Cats aren't so bad, I'd just rather play with dogs or my people! My foster Mom thinks I am wonderful and loves me bunches! I am very affectionate and cuddly and I promise to keep you laughing, even when you are sad. We will get through it all, together. Please give me a chance to be your new best friend! I want to meet you soonest!
