September 2019:

Paisley has once again joined the HBR family. She had been adopted, but through no fault of her own she is now available for adoption again. While she once again searches for her family she is hanging out in a foster home and doing fabulous!

She has been playing with both her human and fur siblings, cuddling, snuggling, giving lots of kisses, and bringing lots of joy and laughter to all that come in contact with her. She is truly a wonderful dog!

Hello. I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Paisley, and I am a sweet, young, energetic, loving, boxer gal! I happen to be looking for a new family, so I would like to tell you my story so that we can find out if I would be a good match for you. Are you ready? Fantastic!

My story began when I was adopted into a loving home as a young puppy. I had a great home and a great life. Unfortunately, my dad became ill and was no longer able to care for me anymore. That’s when his granddaughter came and took me to her house. Only when she came for me, she realized that my back leg was hurt really badly. She took me to the vet to try and get me help, but unfortunately my injury was old and that complicated things. After talking to the vet, she realized that the best thing to do would be to ask HBR to help me get the care I needed. And believe me I am glad that she loved me enough to do that!

When I became part of the HBR family they took me to a special vet who did lots of things like x-rays, and other tests. They determined that my leg had been broken in two different places and my hip was dislocated as well.  As I mentioned before, my injury happened awhile back and that meant that the bones had healed incorrectly and that there was lots of scar tissue. All of this meant one thing, they were not able to help or save my leg. It was too damaged, so I had to have it amputated. Wait. Before you go feeling sorry for me, please don’t. Because in the end, having to have my leg amputated means that I no longer have to be in pain. And to be honest, it had been so long since I was able to use that leg, I was already used to getting around on only three legs.

Now that I’ve had my surgery, I am living with my foster family and recovering. They make sure I have everything I need and are taking great care of me. In return, I have been sure to show them lots and lots of love and give them as many kisses as I can. I also continue to be the same good girl that I was before my surgery. I sleep in my kennel quietly at night, and I make sure that I only go to the bathroom outside. What can I say? I always try to mind my manners!

These days I’m not doing a lot of playing, but I will be back to doing that as soon as I am all better. Before my surgery I did a lots and lots of playing.  I would play with toys, my foster siblings, and my fur siblings. I am also still a snuggler and cuddler too. Snuggling and cuddling are two things that I am still able to do even though I’m still getting better. I don’t want to brag, but I am an excellent snuggler, everyone says so, just ask my foster mom!

And now you are all up to date and know my whole story. The only thing that is left is for us to meet in real life so I can show you my snuggling, cuddling, and kissing skills. How about you fill out that adoption application so we can make that happen?

A note from Paisley’s Foster Mom:  Paisley is a very sweet, wonderful dog! She is doing well with her recovery and is healing nicely. She will be available to start meeting potential adopters soon.  Until she is ready to meet people I will be happy to tell you all about her and how she is doing. Please contact me once you have become an approved HBR Adopter.

Update from Paisley (12/28/18):

Life is good! I have fully recovered from my surgery and now I am PAIN FREE!!! I can finally run, play, and do all of the things a one year old boxer should be able to do. I have learned to chase balls and I’m even learning to bring the ball back to my foster mom so she can throw it again for me. I can’t wait to be adopted and show my forever family all that I can do! Until then please check out the videos I am posting so I can show off my skills!!!
