Well hello there! My name is Comet and I am so very pleased to meet you! I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself because I am available for adoption and I heard that you are looking for a new family member. And guess what? I think I just might be that family member you are looking for. So here goes…
I was rescued from the shelter along with my two puppies, Venus and Orbit. (They were also rescued by HBR). When they took us in it was discovered that we all had Sarcoptic Mange so we had to go immediately to the vet for treatment and care. Because it is highly contagious to both dogs and humans we had to be kept in isolation for the first couple of weeks at the vet. Although that was hard, it was totally worthwhile, because we are now free of mange and are hair is growing back. (Don’t you think my fur coat is beautiful?).
Since that time, I have been able to work my way into a wonderful foster home! It is awesome there. I have a foster fur brother that I love to play with, I get to sleep on dog beds, and most importantly I get lots of love. And I love to be loved! Oh! And I have learned a whole lot since being there too. I now know not to go potty in the house, I have learned to sleep in a kennel, and I have also learned to walk on a leash! Isn’t that fabulous? My foster mama says that now only and I sweet, kind, and beautiful, but I’m also really smart.
Do you know what else my foster mom tells people about me? She says that I am lovable, that I am energetic, and I have lots of energy! And she is right! Even though I am about two years old already I still have the heart of a puppy. Some of my favorite things to do are play with toys, wrestle with my foster fur brother, and run around the back yard at full speed in circles. Truth be told, I run for two reasons. First, it gets my energy out. Second, it makes my foster mom smile and I love to make my humans smile!
Now, there is one other thing that I have to tell you, and that is that I am heartworm positive. But don’t worry about me, I have already started treatment and I am expected to make a full recovery! Pretty soon I will be completely healthy and never have to worry about those awful heartworms again! That makes me pretty happy!
So enough about me, I’d love to hear more about you. Hey I know, why don’t you fill out an adoption application and let’s set up a time to meet so we can get to know each other better!
