Hi! My name is HomeRun, but all of my friends call me Homer, so you can too! I'm a handsome male boxer that is about 5 years old. Why don't you click here and let me tell you a little bit more about me. I'm sure you'll agree that I will be the perfect new player for your team!
My story (at least the part that HBR knows) starts on the East Side of Houston. I was left behind in a stranger’s yard. I was injured and scared. My leg was really hurt, I didn’t know who I could trust, and I was in pain and feeling alone. The people who left me behind had not been very nice to me, so I was happy to be away from them. However, I was not sure what to expect when I was found in that strange yard, barely able to walk or hobble away.
Thankfully, that was the moment my luck started to change, because the people who found me were actually nice! They brought me inside, gave me food and water, and bandaged my wounds. They quickly realized that my injuries were serious and would require lots of medical care. The vet was able to tell that my injuries had been caused by other dogs who wanted to fight me. However, I don’t like to fight, so I was the one to get hurt.
That’s when they contacted Houston Boxer Rescue and HBR drafted me to be part of their team. Even though I was going to have to be on the DL (disabled list) for a little while, they saw my potential. They saw that I am a sweet, smart, and strong wiggle butt, so they took me in, got me fixed up, and gave me a chance at winning the Foster Dog World Series (which means that I will finally be able to find a loving, forever family of my very own)!
Since joining HBR I have gotten into a wonderful foster family. And can you believe it; I get to live inside and be part of a family all of the time! And even better yet, there are no mean people or dogs in my foster home. We all get along! And more important I get lots of love, and pets, and TLC. Oh! And do you know what else? They even give me treats and they taught me about something called toys! Who knew?!?!
My foster family has spent the last couple of weeks working me into the team, er… I mean family, and I have learned a lot since then. I have learned that I love kids, that I can get along with other dogs, that I should only potty outside, and that it is okay to give kisses and be as loving as I want to be. What could be better? Oh, and I don't want to brag, but I'm such a good wiggle butt that my tail wags my whole body! What can I say? I'm a guaranteed HomeRun!
Well, that's it. Now you know everything about me and how I ended up here, trying out to be the next MVP of your team. So what do you say? Why don't you draft me to your team, and together we can hit a grand slam!
