Hi! I’m Josie. I’m very excited to meet you. I heard that you might be stopping by. I’m glad you did because rumor has it that you are looking to adopt a new family member. Is that true? Gee, I hope so because I’m looking to be adopted. Yes, that’s right. You heard me correctly. I’m looking to be adopted. I’m surprised I’m here too, because let me tell you... I am fabulous!
I guess I should start by telling you a little bit about how I found myself here (or at least the parts I know or understand). One night (I think it was storming) my brother and I were out in the storm and scared. We wondered around for awhile looking for shelter until we found some really nice people who took us in and let us spend the night with them. In the morning they tried to find our family, but after awhile it became apparent that we weren’t going to find them. That’s when the nice people who were helping us decided to call HBR and see if they could help. And lucky for us, they said yes!
So now I’m here, in a great foster home, looking for a new forever family and I’ve been learning a lots of new things. I’ve also been teaching them about me too. For example I taught them that I already know to not go potty in the house. I don’t do that because I know that it makes humans upset, plus it’s just plain gross! I might be a really young lady (or an adolescent as my foster mom calls me), but I wasn’t born yesterday!
While in my foster home I’ve also taught them that I get along really well with other dogs and that I’m a great playmate if you have a another furbaby that also likes to play. I like to run, play with toys, play a game of chase, play with toys, and wrestle. Did I mention that I also like to play with toys? I especially love to play with balls because they bounce and roll. Just like me!
You know what? I also really love humans of all ages. I love little kids, I love adults, and I especially love anyone who wants to love me, pet me, play with me, or even just look at me with a smile. In fact, it makes me so happy to be with people that I get really enthusiastic. So much so, that I just can’t help myself from exhibiting the most exuberant, silly, joyful, wiggle butt that you ever did see. Then once my wiggle isn’t enough to show my joy from the attention you are showing me I start to jump and bounce. I can’t help it. It just happens. One second I’m standing and the next second I’m bouncing a couple feet in the air from a standing position. It’s great because it makes everyone laugh and giggle. I really love making humans happy! My foster mom says that I’m just a puppy trapped in a beautiful, petite, adult boxer body and that when I’m older I’ll be able to control my boisterous, boxer, bounce. I believe she is right about that too, because I’ll learn or do anything I can to make my humans happy.
Hmmm. Let’s see. What else should I tell you? I know. I can sit when I’m asked but I’m still learning to walk on a leash. I’m smart though, so I learn quickly. I also love treats so it’s a great way to help me learn. As soon as I hear the package open, or get a whiff of one of those delicious little bites, I’ll do whatever you ask!
To be honest, when I hear that treat bag open I don’t have to travel far because I’m never far from my humans side. I love them so much and I don’t like to be apart from them so I just follow them around from room to room. When they have to leave the house without me I don’t like it very much because I’m afraid one of us will get lost. Just like before when I lost my other family. When my foster family leaves they let me stay in this thing called a kennel. It’s not too bad in there and I’m even learning to like it (especially the warm, soft, cozy bed in there.) I cry a little bit at first, but then I settle down and I’m okay. My foster mom says this is just another thing that I’m still learning because I’m young.
Well, that’s it. Now you know everything about me. Everything except how beautiful and soulful my dark brown eyes are in person. And how I give the sweetest, most gentle boxer kisses in the world. But don’t worry, you’ll learn those things as soon as you fill out an adoption application. Before you know it, you’ll be calling my foster mom to set up a play date!
